OUR GOAL: PROFESSIONAL THEATER SEATING

YOU CAN HELP US REACH THIS GOAL! PROFESSIONAL THEATER SEATING IS MORE COMFORTABLE AND MUCH SAFER THAN FOLDING CHAIRS. BUT IT IS COSTLY. EVEN IN OUR SMALL VENUE, WE ESTIMATE WE WILL NEED TO RAISE ABOUT $17,000 TO PURCHASE AND INSTALL THIS SEATING.

Donor Recognition

Donations of any size to the Seating Fund are welcome and appreciated. But donations of $100 or more will receive special recognition.

BRONZE LEVEL SEAT DONORS: donation $100-$499

  Listing as a Bronze Level Seat Donor in the program of all CBPAA events at the Playhouse. The listing

  will appear in the first program printed after the donation is made, and will remain for at least one year

  after the seats are installed. Fully tax deductible.*

SILVER LEVEL SEAT DONORS: donation $500-$749

  Engraved rectangle listed with other Silver Donors on a plaque on a wall in our lobby.**

  Listing as a Silver Level Seat Donor in the program of all CBPAA events at the Playhouse. The listing

  will appear in the first program printed after the donation is made, and will remain for at least one year

  after the seats are installed. Fully tax deductible.*

GOLD LEVEL SEAT DONORS: donation $750-$999

  One special 10-seat Flex Pack of tickets that never expire. ($160 value)

Our Seat Plan

Currently, we have folding chairs for seating. The rows are tiered for better viewability, and the seats padded to add a little comfort. Our goal is to replace them with professional theater chairs that look like the chairs pictured above. These chairs are better looking and more comfortable. But their primary advantage is safety. They will be bolted to the floor, which adds stability. The seats fold up, which widens the exit path by 2 or more inches, vital to a safe exit. These chairs will sit in the same spot that the folding chairs are in now, which gives a greater row spacing than required by building codes. As far as we know, no other public facility in the town has seating of this quality. You can help us change that!

The Cost

Theater chairs are much more expensive than folding chairs. They can cost up to $1000 and more apiece. Bought in bulk, the price goes down. Therefore, we plan to buy all the new chairs at the same time. Shopping around, we found one company that can supply 40 chairs of good quality at what we feel is a reasonable price ($320 each plus tax and other extras). We will use professionals to assemble and install the chairs. We are setting the goal for the seating fund at $17,000, which should cover all costs of the project.

The Seating Fund

All funds solicited for the purchase of seats will be used for that purpose first. None of these funds will be used for any other purpose until the seats are purchased and installed. Any remaining funds will be placed in the general fund to fund operations and ongoing maintenance needs in the future. We will record contact information for all donors of $100 or more and all such donations will be receipted.
