YOU DID IT!

Through the generous support of our community, Colonial Beach's intimate indoor venue now has professional theater seating. Every penny spent on this seating and its installation is independent of ticket sales or any other source of funding. The Seating Fund started on Mother's Day 2023, with a party at the home of Paula Van Alstine and Ron Harris. That party raised over $4,000. On April 8, 2024, the new seats were installed.

Continuing improvements to our venue.

Improvements at our intimate venue at 108 Hawthorn in downtown Colonial Beach are continuing. Two major improvements we have completed are installing professional seating in our auditorium and lighting on the front of our building. The latter was completed with the help of a beautification grant from the Colonial Beach Community Foundation.

The projects that we are currently working on include rebuilding our stage and backstage surface. This will make our stage more solid, safer, and a little roomier. Also, one of our rows of new seating is slightly out of line due to a wall that must be moved a few inches to make the E row aisle consistent with all other rows.

Thanks so much for the your past contributions which have made our venue safer, more comfortable, and more attractive.

WHAT THEY'RE SAYING ABOUT COLONIAL BEACH PLAYHOUSE . . .

Re: Four Old Broads: Wonderful funny show ... my wife and I may return to see it again.

AR, Fredericksburg

Last night two of my friends and I went to the Colonial Beach Playhouse to see the Savannah Sipping Society. We were absolutely delighted and laughed all the way through the play! It was funny and also moving. The actresses were perfection and the stage ladies really got their groove on !! I hope that all of you beach people take the time to see this little gem of a play.

DS, Colonial Beach

Folks, the play was great...  We had 5 folks from Richmond come up - had dinner at Denson's, drove around the Point and ended up at the play...  Perfect evening and great memory with friends!!!  Thanks to all who were a part of getting this project/Playhouse together!! We thoroughly enjoyed our evening in beautiful Colonial Beach!!
