Dear Friends,

Like all other theatre companies in the world, we are currently closed down. We had hoped that gatherings would be allowed by mid-June and  that we could resume our performances of Nunsense then.

Unfortunately, that didn't happen.

The good news is that the cast of Nunsense has agreed to stage additional performances of Nunsense in August. If gatherings of up to 50 are allowed by then we will be performing indoors us usual. If not, we will be performing on the outdoor stage at the Community Center, with required social distancing.

Dates of performances will be August 14, 15, and 16. An additional matinee has been added on August 15, making a total of four performances on that weekend.  Tickets for these performances are available now on line.

Those still holding tickets for the cancelled performances on March 20, 21, and 22 have the same seats reserved for them on Aug 14, 15, and 16, respectively.

Regarding the other planned Playhouse productions for 2020, we will regret that we have decided to cancel them due to the continuing uncertainties. However, the Colonial Beach Performing Arts Association is seriously looking into other performing arts possibilities for 2020.

Hopefully 2021 will be a safe, healthy, and outstanding year for the entire community, featuring more great plays at Colonial Beach Playhouse.

The Colonial Beach Performing Arts Association has two openings on it's Board of Directors. If you have an interest in the performing arts, please consider helping us guide the Association's future plans. The Playhouse is currently inactive due to the pandemic, but the Board is actively looking into creative ways of bringing performing arts to our community that don't involve public gatherings. At the same time, we are planning shows for the Playhouse in 2021 after restrictions are lifted. If you are interested, please email the Board at cbpaa.info@gmail.com.

From the simple stage of the community center, and with minimal props and sets, the audience is transported to the magical realm of this heart-moving children’s classic "Charlottes's Web." Its powerful messages about life and love are conveyed through 15 talented, enthusiastic actors, three of whom are just of elementary school age.

Nicholas "Nick" Zsobota as the voice of the adult George Bailey was a delight, bringing true emotion to the role.
